Kurt has an undergraduate business degree (2003) from the Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary and an MBA from the Sauder School of Business at UBC. Kurtis’ career has revolved around finance and strategy.  Prior to enrolling in the Sauder MBA Program, he was a commercial banker with HSBC and was involved in structuring credit and origination products with BP Energy’s trading division. He also worked on an advisory team addressing emerging market expansion while working  for Best Buy International.

While at Sauder Kurtis was involved in leadership and volunteering by acting as a Peer Mentor, the Alumni Representative with the MBA Society and by participating as a member of the MBA hockey team.

In his spare time, Kurtis enjoys golf, hockey, skiing and travel.

Why Involved in SBCC?

The opportunities I’ve enjoyed in my career have been due to the generosity of mentors and colleagues.  By becoming actively involved in the Calgary Alumni Chapter, I am able to utilize my network in Calgary to give back to Sauder.
